Something a little different...
I'm certainly glad to have provided the opportunity for so much fun for so many folks here -- although, I must say, there seems to be less than (how should I say this) an educated level of discourse about the topic.
I'm sure that everyone will rejoice to know that (as Slows2K noted) I put that Brazil-wood knob on as an experiment to see if it would work. It did, and I promptly ordered the Aluminum/(Black) Leather version of the same thing. That'll fit nicely with the interior.
One aspect of these long-necked Momo knobs is that they sit lower on the shifter stalk than does the OEM knob (by about a half inch or so, I guess), making the short shifter even more so. But watch out: other universal knobs might have set screws that hit the threads on the stalk, so be careful of damaging your OEM equipment. (This particular one is long-necked enough that the set screws hit the stalk well below the threads.)
Finally, the set screws themselves benefit from some medium-weight Locktite. Dab some on and crank 'em down hard. HPH
