[QUOTE=s2kmugen,Aug 6 2008, 06:19 AM] oh there's nothing wrong asking the question, but myself as well as others read it as if you were comparing the 2, stating that the Meagan never has been recorded to fail such as this T1R thread, assuming that you were stating meagan is better.

Exactly track use is alot more harsh than daily street use i'm sure it was a defective muffler.

Reminds me of the Amuse R1 I had on my old 5R Teggy, one night I was playing around with a R34 GT-R and at about 190km/h all of a sudden I saw the sun light up my interior and I thought WTF is this. Quickly pulled over, pulled out a flashlight and checked out the exhaust, it was smoking and there was a nice hole inside the perforated piping. I burnt the rest of it out, drove around that way and finally the interior piping after about 10000km broke free some more and was pinging something annoying so then I just hacked off the canister all together and drove around that way. Mmmmmmmmm, it was loud when I first got it (non-resonated version), louder still with the packing gone and then just phuckin' awesome sounding with the canister completely gone. I still have the exhaust and will keep it forever just because, it saw about 74000km of hard driving gymkhana, touge and just daily driver action.

Good to see that you are getting a new one on the way, but don't be surprised if it happens again to you (hopefully not in just 3000miles). You really might want to get an A/F guage and check your readings on WOT, you most likely are running somewhat lean and your EGT is spiking UP, UP and away to the point the material can't take the heat. That was my problem in higher gears and didn't really know till I looked at that datalog, I had KPro, but no dyno to tune on when I was living on Okinawa and just did street tuning, but kind of hard to go WOT in 4th, 5th and 6th gears as the car already screamed bloody murder.
