Tail of the dragon
I had the opportunity to hit up the dragon this past weekend since they had evacuated us from the gulf coast area from the hurricane.
It took me about 15 hrs to get there from Biloxi, MS.
all the gas stations were out of gas the first 250 miles, and it was bumper to bumper the first 7 hrs, but the trip was so worth it.
I was there from Sunday til tuesday and never ran into not one single cop, except an encounter with this one particular vehicle that looked exactly like a police cruiser owned by this guy works at the deal's gap motorcycle resort. as soon as i pulled over to let him pass, he had the lisence plate reads "NOTACOP" I thought that was hilarious.
what a beautiful place to be!! the morning fog by the lake, greener trees, and the whole experience was just totally awesome.

I really miss having to drive about 30 min to hit up the GMR or PCH on off days when I used to live in So. Cal. There isn't anything like it here in MS and I knew it'd be a while until I can go up to the dragon again, so i made sure i was up there during my visit, unless i'm eating or taking a nap to recover.
One thing I want to mention about the dragon is that the road condition was a top notch throughout the whole mountain!
