I got back with a severe sun burn along with my sunglass tan lines on my face during my evacuation travel.. ..shrug

i hear a lot of members around that area rave about The Dragon. why is that? is it because this is the only canyon road around that are or is it because this road is REALLY that nice? just curious

I wondered about that myself as well, but from my experience, several reasons.

First, Smokey mt. area is most likely the only place you can go around this area. there are a lot of places you can go to enjoy and do the same or more all over in California, but this place being one of the only, the atmosphere is different. It's like going to a festival. You see all different kinds of people and rides there, and everyone's there to enjoy the festival.

Don't get me wrong tho. the road was really that nice. 318 curves in 11 mile road was truly one of its kind, and the pavement condition throughout the entire mountain was a first class, I've never been to any place like that before.
