THE ONLY THING THAT WAS SAVE IS HES LIFE AND THE SEAT... @ 250MPH CRASHED, I THINK THOSE SEATS HOLD UP PRETTY WELL.

lolwut?
That cabin has a full roll cage. Everything from the firewall back withstood the impact A+++ in terms of structure, the cabin is perfectly in tact. Seats made no difference whatsoever.
My point was yes the roll bar did hold up pretty well which it did not crushed the driver but at the same time with all the flips at 250mph it save the driver from being injured no broken bones what so ever. My point was even the seat not being FIA certified it was insanely solid and safe.
Werd. Is this post an ad for Technocraft/PWJDM or something?
no its not an AD if you read my post i bought the seat for my E92 ///M3... You gotta learn how the read the thread.

ORLY? You bought it for your E92 ///M3? Damn diggity, I love E92 ///M3s. Awesome seat for your E92 ///M3. Too bad we can't make the '///' m-colors. That'd be an even more awesome way to post E92 ///M3
jkIn all seriousness, cool seat, even cooler car.
Seems like plug for PWJDM to me though. Probably more important to read what is implied, rather what is plainly written. For example, the first pictures I see are full scale pics with the PWJDM/TC logo.
There is a lot more to an FIA cert than the seat not shattering in a crash (which I sincerely hope is not the case for ANY CF bucket - especially one at this price point). Take a look at the regs, mainly 8855-1999 and 8862-2009: http://www.fia.com/sport/Regulations/standregs.html Like you said, the seat is just one part of the safety puzzle. Regulations ensure that all the pieces of the puzzle can interact with each other.
At the same time, I understand why PWJDM may not pursue a FIA cert. It is an expensive procedure that must be renewed, and does not make sense from their business model standpoint.

haha yea, i got the M about year and half ago, i actually post it it on M3 board thought i just wanted to share something here since i still love the S2000 also the seats are available for S2K. i no longer have it but still loves them everytime i see one. Although i have not been so active here but i do lurk around to see whats happening.
Yea i agree with you on that FIA cert stuff which i actually looked at and it cost 20k to have it done and ship the seat to Germany to have it certified like you mentioned it needs to be renewed... funny when i had the Bride seats it wasnt FIA certified only certain models. oh well i got the seat cause i actually love it. at this point its safe to say that im pretty safe on that... also will be running 5 point harness for more safety, not that i need it but just for precaution.
Who knows, one of these days they might get that thing certified.

I would think those seats would shatter if it wasnt for the roll cage?
The Roll cage is there to protect the roof and body to avoid crushing the driver from flips and turns.
The seat hold the driver property without injuring him or some sort.
i guess everyone thinks that the seat was save due to roll cage. which is not the case. the seat is another safety products, not because the there is a ROLL CAGE. doesnt mean it will save the driver.
My point was being non FIA certified seat i think it hold up pretty well.
My point, along with most others I think was, that the OEM Gallardo seats would of sufficed and done an equally 'life saving' experience.

haha... that seat saved his life !!!
Those seats look horrible. IMO.
and using a 5 point racing harness on the street is not safer than using the oem DOT approved seat belts
so the roll bar saved him...and the parachute clearly messed him up. I wonder what actual safety testing goes into slapping a parachute on a car like that. Probably not enough if it can dislodge the car's stability that easily.
