rods makes it look bad, the way it is look good. just bolt it on nicely underneath and you won't need rods at all.

^ Then its a poorly designed splitter.
Hi there
I am not sure if you have seen a picture of the CHIN splitter by itself but the one you see in the picture is just a CHIN splitter and not a full undertray or the track splitter I make. The splitter and the materials that I have used are definitely strong enough, however the reason I recommended dave and other members to use support rods is the fact that bumper itself is not strong enough to hold the splitter on high speeds and also it MIGHT cause sagging of the lip (specially if it is replica lip) over time. also many members have AP2 bumper on AP1 car without any of the OEM undertray and that further weakens the front bumper. here are some pics of the splitter designs
from left to right is Chin splitter, splitter+undertray and the track version
The whole Rod thing is a bit childish IMO. A lot of people offering opinions not based on anything in particular.
When you start offering a product or a service, and work with composite materials day in and day out, at that point in time your opinion might have more weight. Until then save your hard parked ideas for Safeway and the let guy do what he does.

Yes you can have an opinion, but dont say people are offering opinions not based on anything in particular because you have no idea what you are talking about. I based my opinion on "poorly designed" after 7 years in professional motorsports where I helped in the design and mock ups of plenty of front splitters. 2 inch extensions to be exact per the rule book for SCCA Speed World Challenge GT in 2006 when we won the Championship with Porsche North America which was the team I was working for back then. So based on my experience with composite materials and design, rods are not necessary if the construction of the splitter is strong enough...and I am against using rods as a means to support and keep a splitter from flexing as some manufactures do. Rods are typically used in that regards which is wrong. Rods also are a cheap way to adjust the angle of a splitter. That should be done towards the middle or back of the splitter where it mounts to the frame.

AS WASP clarified the rods were not being used to reduce flex in the splitter, but instead to make up for S2000 owners lack of a properly secured bumper. So the rods are sort of a band aid for some, and not 100% necessary. So since you didnt read well enough to see that I posted again agreeing and offering a different view after I heard the Rod rational you should not be so quick to jump in. Haha to the hard parked comment, this has absolutely nothing to do with hard parked an all to do with functionality and design of a proper splitter that isnt going to fall apart. have you ever seen some of the APR and J's Racing JDM junk that gets passed off as a splitter. I just saw an authentic J's splitter that is brand new for their newest widebody kit and I think we counted its 6 separated pieces bonded together and its no thicker than a piece of cardboard in the thickest spot I was excited by the new product by WASP as it looks promising and I was afraid that it turned into another POS cheapy...which as I posted earlier I stand corrected and it appears this is a legitimate splitter.
