It cheapens up the look of the car with painted oem wheels.

I dissagree..... I do not think its rice at all... you did something that in your opinion looks good...

plus.... it could be worse... he could have bought some 17x7 +40 all the way around and it looks horrible!!!

No, it looks rice for the following reasons.

Firstly, the edged rim was first created to emphasize how big a wheel was and to add a splash of colour. Stock rims are tiny.

Secondly, time attack rims should have decent tyres and kumho rubbish does not make the grade.

I wouldn't necessarily call it rice, but they were definitely better stock.

I believe it is rice and I'll explain to you why it is rice:

My definition of a ricer is basically a person who will spend whatever little amount of money he/she has on making it seem as though whatever car he/she owns (unfortunately, usually a Honda) looks faster than it really is.
You painted your rims the color of Time Attack wheels in order to make your S2000 standout, even though you've admitted that you do not have the money for a new set of rims. That alone sets you out on the verge of becoming a ricer. No offense to you, good sir, but the Honda S2000 in stock form already looks fast, so there is no point in ricing out the car to make others believe you own a faster car than you originally do.
I am certain you will later post that you were not attempting to make your car look faster and that you just wanted to make your car look better.. Umm... That is another form of "ricer".

Compliments of the previous owner. I just put some Hankook r-s2's on the rear. Tires are very sticky.
