Either speedcraft does not get the turbo kit components at a good price
or they do, and just want to make a killing out of it.
The kit seems to be very clean and well constructed. compared to most kits Ive seen.
I was talking to one of my friends about the kit and he thinks that I should just build myself a custom kit with the same components for a hell of a lot cheaper, but then again, Im sure all the time and stress isnt worth it. Hopefully, if I decide to choose the turbo instead of the super....the install will be a walk in the park, however Im not so sure, since Im in CA, and they are in FL, so I wouldnt be able to leave the S with them (if they needed to make any modifications)
Any flames going out of the exhaust? Cops will sure love to see that
Nope, no flames that I've seen
What gauge pod setup is that?
It's a guage pod from an Integra which was heated and fitted on to the s2000 pillar.
let us know about the drivability of it...
The car is very fun to drive, there is power everywhere in every gear, even when just pushing the accelerator down a little bit the car pushes you back in your seat. Most of my driving is done below 6000 rpms now because I am so confident in the power of the car. When I want to merge in with faster traffic in the left lane there is no downshifting, it's just a matter of a little boost... I guess the main thing that I am impressed by which I will mention again is that it adds alot of torque even when you just press the pedal down a little bit.. It seems as though pressing it down a little bit is equivalent to flooring it before the turbo ??
The turbo is VERY quick to spool up, there is very little boost lag. Off the line it is done spooling at 3500, above that it will be done spooking in a split second.
That Speedcraft Turbo is real CLEAN
Yep!

This is what I was originally considering, however I wanted it done immediatly with proven results. This turbo has the highest results that I have seen anywhere in the world, so I feel pretty confident that I can say (for now) that I have one of the fastest s2000s in the world. Going the custom route means alot of fabrication and alot of time and research, granted that they specifically listed all of the components (foolish in my opinion.) All of the parts add up to around $4000 if you buy them yourself, including guages, boost controller and a coupel other things that don't come with the kit. So I figure that you're spending around $2500 for getting something proven, immediatly.
what does the air fuel management for the turbo?
VAFC with Vortech FMU (boost sensitive fuel preasure regulator)
Do you feel any apparent Turbo Lag??
Nope
with 330 at the wheels, what does it do 0-60?
It does 0-60 faster than your car
I don't know actually, but I imagine that it's in the 4 second range..
how much it cost you the kit and how much does it boost
It costs 6500 and whatever for labor, but I wouldn't recommend running the kit with out some essentials which make it around 8000 bucks plus install. (guages, VAFC, boost controller, turbo timer, exhaust)
Any more questions??
Chris
