Turns out that no returns are accepted unless defective... still worth it in my opinion.

My NRGs with stock hood don't open by themselves. I have to push the hood open and then they'll hold at a certain height. Is that normal? :-\

When I had my NRG's, they were similar to these in that the hood only carried itself after I had lifted it to around my neck... then it would open all the way automatically.

All dampers will require you to pass a certain point before they open by themselves, there is just too much leverage on the dampers otherwise. Do yours never take over by themselves?

^ Nope, never. I know there's two versions--one for stock hoods and another for carbon so I have the right ones. Bought brand new.

Hopefully they didn't mis-ship you the wrong ones... always possible. Otherwise I'd say they are defective.
