Hi gallery folks,

I'm look for two dedicated people to going the big leagues and the s2ki adminisrative staff. Tenatively I've got the 2nd weekend of January scheduled as gallery day. I'll be switching over to the new gallery system for members and it's going to be shit hot.

I'm looking for two people to act as gallery admins. Both must be enthusiastic, loyal and reliable partners in the this process.

The first position is a technical one. The more techniceal your skills the more there is to do. That includes systen admin as it relates to the gallery server, managing th disk space, perfornace and needs.

The second position will be more frontend people related, a leadership role and requires a personality capable of fielding request and demands from members, prioritizing then and to lay out a plan for the developers to follow. I also means filling th main library with great photo and asking people if you can use theirs.

If you think you fill the bill let me knoe and we can discuss it.

I may be willing to take on some of these tasks. I am on S2ki nearly all the time anyway.

I am a system admin by trade so I am sure I could handle the hardware aspects if you need me to, but I am willing to work on whatever role you need.

 

Excellent guys. I'm not sure what I was smoking what I wrote this topic, sorry for the 5th grade grammar and spelling.

I'm looking to pick the team after Christmas (too busy right now as everyone is) to get rolling in the first week of January. The first order of business will be to discuss the transtion to new gallery software and to come up with a plan for how to utilize it to best serve the members. Features, organization, design, that sort of thing. From there we will go forward with implementing the new software and moving everything from the current system.

Both positions are equivilent and overlapping with the main difference being skill set; one being more technically oriented and the other more people and presentation oriented. This is primarily volunteer since there really isn't any money but the reward is in helping thousands of members and owners like yourself and making a contribution to the growth and reinforcement of the community we all love.

The server used to manage the gallery right now is on it's last legs and needs to be replaced. Coming up with a replacement will be the first order of business. Handling the hardware and basic installation is done by someone on-site so really it's picking the right platform for the job.

If you would find doing this to be fun and rewarding please drop me a PM, IM or whatever and let me know. Once xmas is out of the way next week I'll go through the list of candidates and make picks and we can get started

With a little TLC and effort we can take this gallery thing to the next level and make it even more popular than it is now

 

Im on here all the time. I wish i had the knowledge to take on one of these roles. I love this site. I could probably handle the second job if available though.
