ehh shoulda held out till the new one!
I like E36s but I wouldn't have traded my S2000 for this car. I went from a 2000 M Roadster to my AP1 and never looked back. I miss the torque but maintenance and repairs are much cheaper on this car. The AP1 is also tougher (read: not as soft as the M Roadster).
Sooooo... When are you selling those wheels, getting low offset replacements and slapping a supercharger on that M52?

bingo. its only a downgrade if you think a padded savings account is a bad thing.
only thing to watch out for is the maintenance/repairs but good luck w/ it
I was debating between a '99 M3 and S2000s. I finally decided to go with the S2K for the following reason:
1) Maintenance Cost
2) Aftermarket
3) Reliability
I couldn't justify spending $19K for a '99 w/ 67K miles on the odometer when I can get the S2K I have now (just passed 16K miles today) for the same price.
I did drive my cousin's '95 M3 and I was really impressed with the power and that's what got me started looking for it, but I have no regrets buying my S2000. In fact, I'm actually really happy with it.
