What Kind Of Porsche Is This?
It looks kind of like a Boxster. Maybe the front bumper is a bodykit, but the side intakes on the rear section are different, the mirrors are different, the mid-engine cover is different, and I don't see any roll bars.
My guess is that it's not a modded Boxster, but some other convertible model.
Does anyone know for sure?

Boxster (for comparison):

It might be chopped. It looks like an early concept of the Ruf R(K) spyder though. There is a big article on the car in the current excellence, sweet little ride.

But if it is a Porsche then I like it!! Ha ha!
it's based on a porsche boxster. But, that is a 986 boxster and the rk spyder is based on the 987. I would assume it is either some kid trying to make that pic look like the rk spyder, or some sort of concept ps they did.
Why would you hate the miata?

Thanks, guys. I just found it:

The above image is a picture of the 986 prototype, and the production model (shown below) has some slight changes to it. The main differences are the position of the rear air intake, which has been moved up in order to avoid road spray and "noise". Also, the air intakes on the front end have been modified.

That is the original boxster concept car. I believe it debuted in 93 or 94 at the Frankfurt show. The response was so overwhelming, Porsche decided to build it. Most of the differences are productionizing the car and also the fact that the Boxster and 996 shared doors, fenders and front clips. So, the front is the part of the design that got watered down the most. IMHO. The overhangs also had to be significantly increased for crash structures. If you ever get to see the concept in person, you realize just how compromised the production car is. It is beautifully proportioned.
Go on the web and check out some interior pics of that concept car. It had individual fans behind mesh screens for ventilation that are really cool.
