Powdercoating may be more "resistant" to curb rash than painting, but that's like saying a leather jacket is more bullet resistant than a t-shirt. The curbing will go right through powdercoating.

If you're coating the center of a 3 piece wheel, that shouldn't even matter anyway, all you need to be concerned with is rock chips. If you like the look, just paint them, and ask for a bottle of touch up paint. You should be fine.
Im actually going with the "color matched lip" theme that is the current fad. So I will be getting the centers done in glossy black and the lip to be suzuka.

BTW, Your analogy of the t shirt and the leather jacket is correct, but I would be spending more time trying to clean up the small paint damages on the wheel as opposed to cleaning a powdercoated wheel.

LOLOLOL... acting all cocky about "powdercoat" when not even knowing what it used and why on current high end wheel production.

a powdercoat chip is much harder to fix than a paint chip as well, due to the thickness of the coat.

also make sure the person painting the wheels has assembled wheels before.. and knows which sealer to use, as well as where to paint and where not to paint to promote the wheels sealing and bead sealing... its not as simple as unbolt/rebolt.

Interesting. Black centers w/Suzuka lip? Hope you get it done, and I can see it.

We'll get you a tow hook next

I want to powder coat them since they extremely durable compared to painting and are more resistent to curb rash. Oh well....

I definitely will not be posting pictures of my car anytime and I have better things to do than attend a car meet. Although there is still a chance I might attend one as DanS2k has been egging me to come.

BTW, I need the JDM Option bumper sticker on my windshield and the purple JDM exhaust before I get a tow hook

As far as I know, while that may be the "paint code", there is no "powdercoat code" to match your car. You basically have to go in there and pick out a sample that most closely resembles your paint, thereby making it next to impossible to match your paint with powder. They don't make powders to match paint codes.
