This sounds perfect. Non-permanent, looks good. I may jump on this one.

if you go flat in paint, it will not be very durable at all. unless you have the entire bumper redone so that many layers can be applied, then the hard edge can be wet sanded and smoothed out. i went with a HOC "satin black" and followed with a HOC "semi-sheen" clear to protect it. the flatter it is, the more it looks like cheap GM plastic from a Cobalt, and the shorter its life span. but if you like that look, just find a vinyl shop thats damn good at compound curve wrapping and have it wrapped in flat vinyl. if you look at an oem ap1 bumper, the exposed plastic is not as flat as your pics(nor is it as deep a black as mine. but close).

^that bumper is old and has not been cleaned or anything.^

also, if you do totally flat up against a glossy rear diffuser or following some glossy side diffusers, it will look very out of place and will dull-down your nice carbon piece. i went through all these possibilities with my paint supplier buddy before i did this. sat on it for about 3 weeks going over the detail before i got to it. food for thought.

the way you trimmed the chop is very close to the ap1 style though. either way will look great over nothing. just a matter of what style they want. ap1 style, or something a little more aggressive.

Well originally I said satin black and would stand by that. It has a nice sheen to it but is non glossy. I'm gonna do this myself whne I do a restyle and amuse front end next year. Need to complete stage 1 of my money draining build first...

i wanna do this now to make a diffuser look better. I would just want something solid seperating the blasck and white, suggestions? I wouldnt want to go from white paint to black with nothing physicaly seperating, itll look odd in this case.
