Default Windshield tape

I hear everyone talkin about the windshield tape, could someone post a side by side with and without? im not sure what everyone is referring to but would like to. TIA

It's the black around the windshield. If you take the tape off it's paint matched to the rest of the car.

is this the one your talking about i dont have one to compare but just think about it its black...

its nice if you have a hardtop to match the color

i'm thinking about pulling my tape off...can i assume that the paint underneath is clear coated?

^^ Yes. I did mine without even heating up the tape. Just started pulling. There will be some left over residue from the tape, but that comes off really easy with adhesive remover/goo gone

If you are 95% top down then I would say don't remove the tape. The tape removed only looks good with a hardtop IMO. With the top down it makes the windshield look more vertical. The car looks more sleak with the black frame. It seems to make the angle of the windshield seem less upright, if that makes sense

Look at the A pillar on the GPW. Notice how it is white? Normally it is black due to the windshield tape. Remove the tape and it will be body colored underneath.

I took mine off but I somewhat regret it. It looks kind of weird with the convertible top pulled up. However, if you have a hard top, i would definitely take it off. It's really easy to take off. Just open your door and your can see in between your hinges that there's black tape present. Start pulling from there. GooGone works wonders at taking the leftover residue off.
