Default 06-up passenger seat weight sensor trick

Is there any way to trick an 06-up passenger srs sensors when installing aftermarket seats? Trying to rid the instrument cluster of the airbag light. Are there any resistors I can use to trick the weight sensor module on the bottom of the passenger seat

Watch out that little weight sensor for the passenger seat is $500.00 to replace.

Dave, do you mean the piece where the main harness and the two weight sensors plug into?

Just pull the bulb from the cluster and be done.

Did anyone ever figure out how to put a passenger seat in and keep the '06+ airbag working and lights off other than tearing up rails from a donor seat and doing welding and massive custom work and re-programming? I'm not even sure it that thread finished with a solution. I don't care if the airbag is "enabled" full time.

Searching and searching and finding plenty of listings of the problems (seat weighing sensors in the OEM rails AND proximity sensors) but cannot find anyone who has solved it for sure. I don't care if I have to overide it somehow and have the airbag enabled ALL THE TIME but want the lights off and airbag on with a pair of Recaro's mounted. Car will only have adults in it and I don't care if both bags blow if I hit something, but I really would like to put these seats in!

Just because the air bag light is on doesnt mean it doesnt work. MY v8 swapped s2k had an airbag light on, i pulled the bulb. When the douche bag that wrote the car off crashed, the air bags still deployed. As well the air bag light is general light. The problem you are having is with the occupant classification system. I bet 10/10 your air bag is still functional.

hope this helps

HiLee,
I am hoping you can help me out with a similar airbag sensor question. I have an '06 Laguna AP2 and would like to install a set of '03 AP1 seats. I know i can swap them easily by changing the rails. Problem is the sensor. Do you know if the AP1 seats will work in the passenger side? Is there a way to swap the sensor from the AP2 seat into the AP1? If i cannot, will the airbags still work in the passenger seat?

Thanks for your advice and help.

The sensor is part of the rails which you are going to swap anyway. As long as you use the stock 06+ rail then this shouldn't be a problem at all. The problem is for people who need to use a different side mount rail with aftermarket bucket seat.
