Default Ap1 Armpad help!

The leather on my arm pad is starting to tear at the corner. I was thinking about sending it in to GoTuning to have it upholstered. I read a couple of DIY's on this site; however, most of them are DIY's with AP2s. Anyways, when you drill or carve the stock ap1 welds to remove the armrest. How do you reinstall it to the console?

That could work as well, I called JPM CoachWorks and they are supplying me with small screws to reinstall the ap1 armrest, as well as, some foam to go under the new alcantara and leather armrest. Can't wait to install!
