Default Carbon Fiber wrapped air bag panel

Easy to do: just buy the carbon fiber wrapped vinyl (the kind that bends in heat)

1. wipe down your air bag panel thoroughly with alcohol

2. place a sheet of the CF wrap over the panel and cut around the edges of the panel with a box cutter- not too close though so that way you can have extra wrap to tuck the remaining under the airbag panel so its looks clean

3. took the remaining wrap under the panel using a decal smoother or credit card

4. use a blow dryer to flatten the rest of the wrap on the panel and make it nice and smooth.

also, you can do the same thing for the visors to cover the hideous safety emblems, as shown here:

Do you remove panel before wrapping it or did you just wrap it with it on the dash? Looks good.

i did NOT remove the panel. i just tucked the wrap around the edges with a credit card. it literally takes 5 minutes.

Just don't get the cheap sticker-type carbon fiber sheets. get the type meant for exterior car wrapping because it will stay put and mold well around the corners of the airbag panel and not create corner creases

this will look nice until your cars sits in the sun for a coupler hours, then the film will start to curl and distort off the dash/airbag material.

I've been thinking of using this material on the underside of my hardtop, wondering how well it sticks to vinyl. I like the look of your upgrade.

Used this same material on my center console last night! I think it came out really well and hides the scratches left by the previous owner.
