Carpet over carpet?
As the title states..
I'm not really looking to buy new OEM carpet but I do want red/brown carpeting in my car (haven't decided on a color). I'm sure reupholstering shops do this fairly regularly but I haven't found anyone that has done it on this board or any of the boards I'm on.. I do plan on doing this myself as it seems like an easy process..
- Remove OEM carpet 'bucket'
- Measure, & cut new carpeting
- Stitch, glue or pin a new material over the existing OEM carpet
It sounds like an easy thing to do, however, I haven't seen this done and I'm unaware of any complications that I may run into during the process. Any opinions and comments would help! I'm looking to put a material very similar to this:

Putting a layer on the carpet will add thickness which will restrict certain areas of tight constraints.
Certain bends in the carpet will creat wrinkles or creases if not seamed properly before over layed.
