I had a quarter down in the area where the softtop folds down.
got it out with a magnet taped to a long screwdriver.

I have this exact same issue! Just bought the car a couple weeks ago, didn't notice it until I started doing some hard cornering. Annoying! I can't find the culprit so far.

I've had coins in the seat rails. Doesn't sound anything like rivets in the top frame (had those as well) -- or even sound like it's coming from the same place.

Check and see if you are missing one of the buttons that secure the tonneau cover on. They are known to fall out.
