I don't put my car at full brightness. I have it on the lowest setting. The reason I keep it at the lowest setting is because I think that it'll help the dash last longer haha that's sounds so dumb when I write it

It never occurred to me that the back lighting might be adjustable. I guess I like the same setting as the last guy.

In general, I keep mine as dim as possible... But that's "in general"... Once in a while I'll mix things up and turn it brighter... But the natural position on my dash lamps is "dim".

Now that this topic is being discussed...does one setting or another end up having a positive or negative impact on the lifespan of the LED bulbs behind the cluster? Just curious...

Interesting... There's what you think you do...and then there's what you actually do...

I jumped into my car last night and checked my dimmer setting and it was one less than the brightest setting... So I guess I don't go dim at all!

Can someome tell me an easier way to post a picture than finding out a URL? I took a picture of my problem on my phone, emailed it to myself and can't get a URL (I have a Mac) thanks

For now I guess please copy and past my link above/below to your search bar, thanks again!

Try uploading it to imgur. But from what you're describing, it sounds normal. Mine also lights up from the corners. Its particularly noticeable when you turn on the headlights (which illuminates the dash) before you turn the ignition to ON - the back lights illuminate the numbers/writing on the dash. Once the ignition is on and the tach/speedo come on I don't really notice it.

It reminds me that this car was designed in the 90s

Ok you got it right there actually what I am talking about that is EXACTLY what I am taking about but that light stays on while driving like your last picture, any thoughts/ideas/suggestions? I will go to my car now and try and mess with the brightness of the dash perhaps? I dont want to see that video game looking dash with those lights(I love the dash to death and I don't even have my s2k for a complete month yet) Its just annoying driving and thinking about the lights from those corners ~ Thanks ~

It's still there when driving but I never really notice it - the backlight sort of blends with the illumination from the tac/speedo. If it really bothers you, I guess you could remove the dash illumination bulbs but then you wouldn't be able to see the numbers/writing at night. There may also be LED bulbs to replace the incandescent bulbs but I haven't looked in to it.
