Default Differences in leather please advice

hello everyone.
i got a 2k8 s2000 with the soft and smooth leather black + red stiching.

I noticed earlier models got a different type of leather (pebble texture)

As i am planning to get my seats recovered i wanted to know which type of leather got the best quality.
the 2k8 soft and smooth and the pebble textured one?

I asked to 2 different leather shops they dont agree....
Thanks a lot for your help

IIRC the "pebble texture" isn't leather.

The seats are leather/vinyl combo for all years.

The 06+leather is a bit more durable but not the best looking in my opinion.

If you are getting new seat covers then the upholstery shop should be able to lead you in the right direction

All seats are leather and vinyl for all makes of vehicles. I used Classic Soft Trim. They are nation wide.

Except for high end exotics and luxury cars.

on your average consumer vehicle with leather, the areas that aren't high wear are typically vinyl. ( ie. the sides and backs). Its how the manufacturer cuts down on cost. The style of leather typically has nothing to do with quality. The quality of the leather depends on how the cows were raised, where they were raised ect., ect. Some high end auto manufacturers even have cows bread in parts of the world where insect bites are not common as bug bites cause flaws in the leather. But high quality leather always has a high quality price. Its just like everything else. You get what you pay for. Cheaper hides are usually thinner, have more flaws and are dyed using a process that is not very durable. So when picking a leather, be less concerned about the texture and more concerned about overall quality.
