I never really noticed but while my car is apart getting a new motor i was cleaning up the interior and saw that my seats are way darker red than the door panels, and my driver seat is way darker than the passenger seat.

I hadnt seen it mentioned anywhere before but did they change the red through the years? Mine is an 01 and I know the seats were replaced before due to theft.

 

seat materials were sourced from different suppliers over the years. Color variations are common.

 

AP1 red is different than AP2 red interior...AP1 is slightly darker and called something like "formula red", AP2 is more vibrant and called "pure red"...i found this out the hard way when I was looking to do an interior swap

 

AP1 is called "Vivid Red," FWIW the door panels are vinyl and will age differently than leather.

 

kinda off topic but is the blue different between ap1 and ap2?? i just bought ap2 door panels for my 02 and they come in a few days

 

^ Let us know if the blue is a different shade also. I never thought about that before.

 

they matched great. its not a different shade they were almost the same color, i can't tell a difference
