Default DIY Wind Guard, Footwell and Seat Lighting

After searching the internet for two days only to find bits and pieces of DIY lighting guides and no DIY windguard,
I decided to do my own wind guard mod and interior lighting. Hope you like and use.

Parts:

2 - rectangular high brightness LED (color of choice)
2 - 400-500ohm resistor
4 - 12" 12VDC LED strip
Solder
SPST Relay
2 prong switch of your liking
50ft Black 22-28 gauge wire
Glue
Electrical Tape

Tools:

Screwdriver
Solder Gun
Wire Strippers

Found all my parts at RadioShack

First remove your wind guard either by popping out the black caps and unscrewing from the top OR
from the nuts underneath the secret compartment.

Then using credit cards or butter knives you can separate the base from cover. Make sure you
pry between the plastic and the front of the wind guard. (Front as in if it were still mounted)

You should have this:

Next is to solder the LEDs together

Solder the LONG pin(+) of LED #1 to a resistor, then the resistor to a 18" wire
Solder a 8" wire to the short pin(-) of LED #1

Solder the LONG pin(+) of LED #2 to a resistor, then the resistor to a 18" wire
Solder a 8" wire to the short pin(-) of LED #2

Tape around exposed areas to ensure no shorts

Remove the plastic from the base

Bend and mold the wire to fit as I have it

Clamp the (+) end of LED #1 and #2 together on the female end of a clamp plug.
Clamp the (-) end of LED #1 and #2 together on the female end of a clamp plug.

Make 2 male clamp plugs with 6" of wire

Plug in the plugs and label on the end of the 6" male wires which is positive.

Let the LEDs hang out barely but have the wires in. Replace the plastic then wedge the
LEDs in between the base ear and the plastic.

If you look close at your wind guard (two pics above) you can see small holes on both sides
of the feet. You can run the wires out of these. (+) through one, (-) through the other
but use the same foot.

Make sure it all works with a battery pack then glue it back together. Use pliable glue if you
plan on getting back in there in the future.

Now you have to wire it into your car. Sorry no install pics but will have finished product pics at the end.

I also installed 4 LED strips. One behind each seat and one in each footwell. So run your wire down and
around the seat and splice together the positive end of the wind guard AND the positive end of the led strip
behind the driver seat AND a wire long enough to reach to the fuse box area. Same with the negatives. Tape.
(I did this with the negative because I didn't want to have to find a ground behind the seats)
Run wires under the "S2000" trim piece.

Now go to the passenger side and splice together a wire for each positive and negative end of the LED strip
behind the passenger seat to reach under the "S2000" trim, along the wall, behind the blower fan, and to
the radio knee pad (the carbon fiber looking plate on each side of the radio. Take both off)
Now splice the positive of the footwell LED AND the positive of seat LED AND a wire to reach through the
knee pad holes(under radio) to the fuse box. Same with negatives.

Now you should have a positive and a negative coming from the knee pad hole on the driver's side AND a positive
and negative coming from the "S2000" trim on the driver's side AND the positive and negative coming from the drivers
footwell LED.

Splice the positives together and the negatives together. Now find a Ground bolt (I used the Hood release)
and bolt down the negatives under the washer.

Here is the fun part.... the SPST relay

Then Tape it all up really well, dont want anything to short(I put my SPST in the fuse box near the ECM)
Cram the wire in as nice as you can and put your fuse box cover on.(I also let my switch to stick out of the hood latch hole)

Voila!! Done

Now when you unlock your doors or open your doors or turn off your car, the lights will turn on. You can also hit
the switch to have them on while your driving or showing your car.

Hope this helps everyone.

Phone Flashes on the first pic but not the rest.

can you post more pictures on how to do the floor lights. Basically I cant find a way from my fuse box under steering column to passengers seat. without it looking like complete garbage (ie wires showing) is there a hole im not seeing that wires are being fed through? im using ledglow 4 piece kit.

this is for just the floor lights not the windguard.

For passenger floor lights, I just sent the wire straight across, behind the radio. Used an old antenna to feed it across as there isn't much space
