Thumbs up Door panel armrest indentation

Hi,

I typically rest my elbow on the door panel while I drive, next to the handle. It's padded but over time, an indentation has formed. I feel like the foam, or whatever material that is under it has separated causing the outer leather to look pressed in.

It's not a huge deal, but I notice these small details and try to prevent any wear from occuring.

Is there a way to get under the panel and fix this? I've attached a picture with the effected area circled.

Thanks!

Nope. The factory door panel vinyl has a 1/4" layer of foam glued to it and then attached to the door insert. The only way to fix your problem is to get it replaced. I've done lots of s2k door inserts and have tried lots of repair methods but nothing looks good.

Oh I see. So the cheapest fix for this would be to buy the whole panel though right?

Thanks for the quick response.

I have the same habit and I also notice that it sometimes makes a popping sound as I lift my elbow away.

You can get a shop to remake the leather&vinyl insert. (PM me). Or you can find old door panels for cheap and swap the out (if they too are not damaged).

As for your popping sound........the plastic could be cracked and that's the sound your hearing....
