iPad in place of the radio latch
Hey guys,
I'm usually on a dutch s2k forum but it thought i had to share this with you!
The anoying latch covering the radio, is about 7mm bigger than an iPad mini.
I machined a 10mm piece of billet aluminium to fit this part and had it anodized matt black.
The radio can stay in place and act as an amp.
I combined it with an obdII readout and dashcontrol and it works pretty good.
Next thing is to hack a iPad remote to hook up to the dash controls.

It would look nice if it were angled, but there's just no space for it and the glare could increase. In full sunshine the visibility is compromised, but not up to the point that you can't see. At night with the roof down, people dont notice it untill you turn it on.The iPad can also be turned around so the passenger can use it.

I think that is terrific. Frankly, its just like "glass" airplanes I fly. (Into Schiphol I might add) I can't believe it has taken so long for auto manufactures to use these and eliminate all gauges. If something happens that needs attention, it comes up automatically. Otherwise you can customize the panel just they way you want.
Bedankt for the post and Tot Ziens!
