I've gotten lots of comments on the seats this year. I'm so used to them now I've got no problems tossing it sideways at any and every opportunity, even on new tires.
Took a crowbar and some pliers to the springs last night, to even them out. Got about another quarter inch lowered with a bit more comfort from being even. The springs hover the cushion just slightly over the floor, only the largest bumps or slams make it bottom out.
2022 update: I still love them, the logos are getting a bit faded. The ones in the USDM Civic Type R are pretty close to the same feel, but they wouldn't fit inside the S2000.
Bumping this because I'm curious if you have more pics of how you modified the seat rails. I have the same seats in my Forester and they sit waaay too high. Surprised I could only find someone who lowered these for use in an S2000 haha. They're awesome seats, they're just so tall.
Cut the feet off and made new ones. Chopped out the springs and welded them on lower.
In my WRX, I just cut the feet in half and overlapped them, then rewelded.

I'll have to pull the seat out and look at it again. I was trying to look under it with it in the car but it's hard to see anything lol. I swapped a USDM driver seat base onto the seat to get the height adjust back, but honestly it didn't really do a whole lot to lower the seat from JDM passenger seat base. But it looks like when my height adjust is fully lowered, there's still room for the rails to go down further before they bottom out on the bracket, so I wasn't sure if that's part of what you had modified - removing height adjust and welding the sliders straight to the bracket.
HKS also sells lowering rails and with the yen being kind of weak right now they're more affordable. I just don't know if they'll lower the seat quite enough.

Sorry for double post but how much would you say the WRX seats lowered doing that? I assume you have a blob eye based on your profile pic.
Turns out those HKS rails won't work since I swapped my rails to USDM. Chucked the JDM rails thinking I'd never need them haha. So modification is the only option. That or I could get bugeye seats which I've had in the past and for me at 6'2 they honestly go TOO low. Which is awesome.
2024 check in: the smile on people's faces when they sit in my car never disappoints I still love to slide this thing sideways, pure confidence with one hand on the steering wheel.
The red stitching is fading and falling out, but not the other threads. The alcantara is scrubbing and scruffy. Gonna just keep driving it! 160,000 miles, 14 years with these seats!!
