Correct. My shift boot was sagging quite a bit and it looked funny with the new knob so I unwrapped it some so it would cover the bottom of the new knob. I think I'm going to pick up a new book anyway, I don't like how the stock one gets all saggy.

Personally I like my shift knobs to sit LOW for a better CG and shorter shift. But I do like your idea of custom shift knobs ~ been using the countersunk Voodoo type knobs in both my NSX and s2000 for over 5+ years now and never thought of doing a custom one.

What are his abilities in doing something unique? hmmmm If he can make something that sits low then I'm all for a new knob.

thanks for the post

I agree...I think having a lower knob does compliment the shifter on this car a lot. I guess I am used to taller shifters from my old Subarus so this knob sitting up slightly higher doesn't bother me too much. It could probably use a touch more weight though...maybe about 50 grams or so but it's still great.

Chris does some amazing work, I'm sure he can make something nice and countersunk for you. Just shoot him an email and give him some specs and he can usually make it.
