I'm planning on doing some track events and my s2k is not my DD. I also love the feel of my friends Lotus w/ very crappy bucket seats. That said I'm still wondering if it's a bad idea to put a basic set of buckets. My buddy has a very slightly used basic Sparco seat and I'm thinking of picking it up. I will install it w/ a harness. Probably not a 6 point as that seems like a real PIA.

Also wondering how crappy it will look w/ a stock seat for passenger and racing seat for me. Of course down the road I may put a better seat in for me and put the other in for passenger. my wife hates the car anyhow so don't see how she could hate it even more at this point

 

people do this quite often. There is a whole gallery of aftermarket seats. You might want to consider the weight of the seats because oem is around 25lbs, but some aftermarket weigh more.
