Default Red/Black Interior: Black or Red Floormats?

Curious what others think here...

I have a red/black interior, which has red carpeting...

The previous owner gave me a set of "short" red OEM floormats, and a set of extended aftermarket black floormats...

Both look like they are appropriate when placed in the car...

I am thinking of a new set of floormats...what do you think looks better? Red to match the carpet? Or black to extend the contrasting look of the red/black interior?

I have both but think the black looks better...it breaks up the large amount of red on the floor.

I also preferred red on my last red interior'd car however since it was my DD it showed stains/dirt very quickly. Unless your car is a garage queen I would suggest black for anything your feet touches.

I have both and prefer the black for daily use - keeping the red oem's in unused condition. The blacks are full length and cover the humps to minimize wear and tear on these spots. They have red trim on them to tie in with red of the interior and a red S2000 logo.

I rented a rug doctor to clean the carpets in my home over the weekend and decided to rent the upholstery handtools to shampoo/clean all of the floormats on my my 3 cars...

The floormats were FILTHY!!! The resulting water output looked like chocolate milk (dark chocolate!)...

My 3G TL mats looked a little "gray" after the cleaning...I was a little concerned that part of the dark water was a result of taking out black dye of the floormats... These are Acura OEM floormats though... The material is not likely dyed, is it?

Anyway, I also took out the seats of my S2000 (to put Clazzio covers on them) and ended up shampooing the red carpet too. The previous owner had a pet, so I thought this was an excellent opportunity to get rid of any pet filth that was still in the car... The car feels very fresh now!!!

I am leaning towards the staying with black floormats... I really like the contrast... My only hesitation is that black floormats are so common...the chance at getting red floormats that tie into the red interior is tempting...
