i Just wanted to know how to remove the chrome plastic that surrounds the gear boot in a AP1 on the console ?

Can it be removed like for example with a screwdriver or does the entire console have to come off ?

Mine has become flakey and would like to respray it.

If i remember correctly, it will unscrew from underneith and you can sand it down and spray it up. Think there is even a diy on this somewhere.
