Default Seat materials - what to go for ....

It's a pretty simple question and one that sadly, can't be answered in the UK part of the forums, as far as I can tell, no one has bothered with recovering OEM seats. They either get replaced completely or 'upgraded' to racing seats. I don't want to buy new seats as those are going to have the same problems or they are going to cost me silly money - upwawrds of £350 for the pair.

I don't want racing seats because I don't go racing and I love the shape and fit of the existing seats.

So i'm left with some choices to sort out the worn and sagging drivers seat.

Just for info - £100 is roughly equal to $151

1. Leather retrim and bolster fix - Probably £150
2. Neoprene ( Wet Okole) seat covers - £155
3. Clazzio ( If GoTuning EVER reply to emails) covers - £164
4. Topsonline synthetic leather full covers - £197
5. Topsonline Reno leather full replacement covers - £329

Bearing in mind i've got £40 delivery to add to that + whatever our theiving government decides to add in import tax .....

So that's my options, what i'm hoping for are opinions from people who have tried some of those options and can give me some feedback on what's good and what's not, how they stood up to use / abuse over time, what the fitting was like.

I've done some upholstering before so setting to with hogring pliers and rings etc really doesn't worry me, it's how it looks and how it lasts that i'm interested in.

Cheers for any input offered.

I don't explore much of S2Ki outside of the local community where I'm in, so It's too bad I didn't see this earlier. I partially reupholstered my seats with Alcantara. Really good stuff.

Can't go wrong with the Clazzio covers though. I know a few people who have them and love them.

Thanks I don't either and I think I should try to spend more time reading the wider boards, the reviews i've seen have all been good so i'm happy I made the right choice, will pop some pictures up once I get them installed.

Can you guys post up pictures of your results? I'm in the same boat. Love the stock seats, hate the leather. I'd rather have cloth or alcantara for a little more lateral grip (and breath-ability in hot summer months).

Thanks!

Looks nice! What did that run you, money-wise? (If you dont mind sharing - you could PM instead). I think this would look nice black on black, because it would probably look like charcoal on black.

The thing about Alcantara is that it photographs really weird. It looks gray under full sun light due to the reflection off the micro-filaments. What I payed for that to get done is a more than Clazzio covers would cost. I also had the door inserts reupholstered in Alcantara as well (partially) and all four units cost about $1,500 for labor and material. Material costs alone ran upward of about $200 (about $100 per yard). Alcantara is not cheap stuff, but worth the cost. I had the seats and door inserts done locally. My dash and upper door cards were done at GoTuning.

Material had to be purchased separately from Gulf Fabrics.
