Default Re-upholstering the front seats?

I'm asking just what the title says. I'm not a huge fan of leather seats in general, but I do like the sport cloth everyone uses on their racing seats. Would it be possible to remove the leather from the front seats and reupholster them with some kind of sport cloth? I don't want to do aftermarket seats because of the cost, fitment, and comfort issues; but this seemed like the next best solution. Anybody got any thoughts on this idea?

I'd also like to know what people have done in terms of going to cloth. I'm assuming any such effort would ruin the leather covering and would not be reversible, right?

Leather seats in a convertible... why?

I remember someone had seat covers or something in that kind of cloth you wanted... I forgot who though. Maybe other members can chime in.

Wet Okole makes seat covers. They aren't cloth though. They are a neoprene material. I think leatherseats.com can do suede, but I don't know about cloth.

I think it is a bad idea -- unless you also reupholster the back seats. Otherwise your S would look funny with cloth front seats.

if you go cloth....use NEOPRENE. I think it is be best bang for the buck. Absorbant, soft, and good looking. I think a 2-tone black / red would look PHAT (like the 05 2-tones).

At first I didn't read the post you quoted, only the reply. I was thinking "only the front seats... back seats?! your S has back seats?!"

I think you mean seat backs.

You may want to consider selling your seats on eBay or something ...
then just spend the money on some quality Recaros

No, I meant front seats. That was a momentary lapse of thought. You mean to tell me you guys don't have rumble seats in the trunk?
