So I picked up a project set of seats yesterday, and I'm looking to restore them. On the ones that came with my car 5 years ago, they were in decent enough shape - I was able to simply refoam and dye a few wear areas, but the skins on my new set are beyond saving.
So, with that, I started to do some research into the available options for reskinning. I am curious if any other members have tried any of these, have any feedback or suggestions.
Leatherseats.com - overall good reviews, they look good in the videos. I saw a thread posted here on s2ki where a member was unhappy with the result though. Expensive. https://leatherseats.com/shop/specia...ingstitch-pkg/
So with all that said, curious what everyone else has gone with, your experience, and how it's wearing in the long term? Drop any photos if you got em!
So I messaged each of the companies I listed originally, and asked them for samples before I made my decision on which company to go with:
Leatherseats.com - answered within 20 minutes, quickly sent out samples the same day. Customer service seems great.
lseat.com - They told me I need to purchase a sample set, so I did. It's been 13 days and I still don't have it. I messaged them yesterday and they said. "it was shipped." No tracking or anything. Not looking good for their customer service...
leatherseats11 - "we don't do samples"
ridies - Answered pretty quickly, sent out samples the next day. Actually, as I'm writing this post they just reached out to follow up.
Katzkin - No samples
So based on all that, I'm down to leatherseats.com vs ridies
Really? They didn't even list anything about that on the website. That would be a huge selling point if i didn't already redo my door panels. Got any pics of your finished install?
At this point I think I am leaning towards trying out Ridies, they are almost $500 cheaper for the same configuration.
^ Think I am going to place my order tomorrow for the Ridies.
I was going to repair the seat bolsters myself, but i stopped by a local shop to see what they would say and he said he will rebuild them for $100. I get them back in a week or so. Will post some pics on how that turns out.
