I'd read this forum for about a week before buying. Didn't really grasp the concept until I actually sat in the car for the first time and it took me a minute to figure it out. I don't think the dealership (bought used at a Toyota dealership) knew it was there. I found the owner's manual and alot of the paperwork where the previous owner had gotten it serviced, etc. It even had his name, number, and address in there. I've been thinking about calling and asking the history of the car one of these days.

I bought mine, and was pissed that I couldn't find an owner's manual. Then finally, I was browsing through s2ki and saw a picture in the Topdown thread with someone having theirs open, and I flipped, ran downstairs, and opened it. It was like finding free money. MORE STORAGE!

Wow....My 2nd S2k and I never knew about this....Crazy! And what do you know, I found this last night (thanks to this thread) and there was my Owner's Manual, and every service record completed by the original owner...

I just wish another nice surprise would have been some forgotten money....haha

WOW, Thanks so very much for giving us the info on this secret compartment.
I bought my new 07 S2000 (50 miles) on it a couple of weeks ago and thought
I had covered most of the owners manual. My husband thought I was nuts
when I kept telling him about this forum and that you guys kept writing about
this. I am so thankful to have found this site, I am a newbie when it comes
to the S2000, BUT I love the car.
