Moddiction makes good shift knobs; highly recommended.

Getting a better leather shift boot helps, too. The 00-03 is crappy vinyl, and the 04-08 is thin crappy leather. I have a blue Ricks shift boot, fits both AP1 and my current AP2 console.

Welcome to s2ki. I came from the seven forum also. it's a cool place here to. whats funny is that i had the same exact problem as you when i got my s2k. it would be funny if you had a 3rd gen as well. anyhow, you need the locknut like others have stated and you will be good to go.

Anyone have directions or video for raising a saggy shift boot with a nut or washer? I am a visual person and it would help to see this done. Thanks

just get a countersunk knob from moddiction and call it a day! It'll eliminate some of that gap
