Default Steering column plastic

How does one remove the top plastic trim on the steering column. For some reason mine has a broken clip and does not snap in to the lower piece. Id like to take it off to replace it, but the lower part of the dash prevents it from coming out.

You need to lower the steering column; there's 2 nuts to remove and 2 bolts to loosen.

Under the lower plastic cover of the column are 2 flange nuts. Remove those. Go further back on the steering column towards the firewall and there's 2 bolts. Don't fully remove them all the way, but loosening them will lower the column more than enough to get the plastic cover off of the top of the column.
