It appears that the way the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works involves abrasion. The foam is a fine abrasive. Does anyone know if the leather on the OEM steering wheel is coated like our seats are? Is that a concern at all?

The S2000 oem wheel is coated, my factory wheel was scuffed up by the original owner who wore rings on her fingers and you could see the coloured coating that was peeling.

The Mr. Clean works using micro abrasion as you noted, If you were to use too much force it could cause scuffing. It sounds like Harry used it properly over the years if it did not cause any issues. I'd say start with an APC and microfiber first, if that isn't enough then move onto Mr. Clean magic eraser, easy does it either way.

Abrasion and steering wheel doesn't sound good to me lol.
did you recover your wheel as a result of the previous owner's scuffing? I've heard its expensive to do so with genuine leather which OEM is.

yes I definitely did, that wheel was in rough shape when I got it. I had Guardian Designs make me a custom wheel with their leather options, made it nice and fat too, loved it immensely.

Spray Nine is an awesome product, have been using it for 30+ years. Nice to know Joey.

That came out really nicely! I dig it. Personally I would have gone with red stitching to match my interior but fortunately I don't have to go that route
If I did though then I'd want my wheel to look like yours.
Quick turnaround time including shipping. Quite impressive.

For your shift knob: did you lower the standard lock nut to make the knob sit lower than stock height?
Thanks and it's an aftermarket knob, Moddiction Anvil 2, and it sits as low as it can go with locking nuts and aligning the shift pattern.

I would only use the eraser if the wheel is in bad shape and should only be used when needed imo. Regular care should prevent it from being in bad shape for awhile.
