I tried searching for a stereo thread but couldnt find it. If someone has it link me please?


What stereos do you guys have and anyone using the aftermarket steering wheel mount controls? I would like to get my brother a radio for his birthday but he doesnt want to lose his controls on the side. OE radios sound like crap and I know a nice aftermarket radio would give the speakers enough bump for the top down days.

Im also looking for a red/amber lit radio to keep that OEM look PICS PLEASE!!!

Go with pioneer.... They tend to be user friendly. You will need the steering wheel adapterand a radio that has a wired remote input. You may not be able t keep the mute button working, as I could not.

 

Previous owner put a touch screen JVC in mine, still clears the radio door and I still have the audio controls to the left of the steering wheel

 

Try the electronics subforum.

...and read the FAQ in that subforum. You need a DCI to retain the audio controls with an aftermarket head unit. Modifry is always recommended.

 

Can you send me a link to this FAQ? I'm also on the market for getting an after market stero because I refuse to spend 150 for a ipod adpater from SOS when I can get a great stero for that.

I use an alpine without the dash controls.....I don't really miss them. Really want a deck with bluetooth though. I hate all the cables attached to my charger and deck

 

I just ordered a Clarion CZ401 http://www.crutchfield.com/p_020CZ40...cz401&skipvs=T not a bad deal 109$ for everything. retail price is at $180, now I have to look into ordering a Modifrys harness,not sure what the difference are in both harnesses that he sells, but oh well I guess its time to read up on it.
