Default Suntan lotion and Leather

I noticed my suntan lotion likes to come off and smear itself anywhere my skin touches. It left a white residue on the vinyl/leather that was easy to wipe off... but I can't imagine it's good for the interior? Right now I use the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch, which is really good suntan lotion but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem? Obviously not wearing suntan lotion is not an option, but maybe I should use something else?

Any thoughts on this? Does anyone else have this problem?

no, not yet. But i could recommend that if you have the top down be sure to clean and condition the leather with lexol products!

+1 - sweat is just as bad as the lotion, definitely clean and condition regularly as mentioned above. Wear track pants instead of shorts if you can, or sit on a towel if at all possible.

I'm gonna try a spray lotion, since they tend to be more clear instead of white. It should be less noticeable at least.

I'm not sure, actually. Sweat, as stated above, is probably a bigger problem.

Very true, the salt from the sweat seeps into the leather and soaks up any "good" moisture. If you sweat a lot, or ride with the top down at the beach, be sure to condition and protect your leather before and after.

I try to clean and condition the leather every 3 months along with the rest of the interior. But I guess I'm just worried the suntan lotion could stain the leather overtime or be absorbed by it... same with the vinyl.

As long as the leather is supple and and well protected, if some suntan lotion rubs against it - you'll be ok. Just try and wipe it off when you see it. If the suntan lotion seeps into the leather, you might have some problems with cracking over longer periods of time - but this is assuming your leather isn't protected and you let the lotion soak in (if you had some on your back and then drove for 9 hours, which is unlikely to drive that long with no shirt).

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Is it good for the leather? No. But you'll be ok as long as you wipe it up when you see it.
