Greenwich Concours d'Elegance
Anyone here going?
TITLE SPONSOR
2005 GREENWICH CONCOURS D'ELEGANCE-VINTAGE CARS, BOATS AND PLANES
The tenth annual Greenwich Concours d' Elegance will be held on June 4th and June 5th at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park in Greenwich, Connecticut. Bruce and Genia Wennerstrom, who co-chair the event, plan to include a display of both vintage and contemporary power boats. "We'll have boats in the water and boattails on land," they said, referring to the classic automotive speedsters of the 1930s with rear ends shaped like the sharp prow of a boat.
Now acclaimed as one of the top events of its kind in the country, the Greenwich Concours helps benefit Americares, the international relief organization. Automobile Magazine is the Title Sponsor of the event, which also includes vintage motorcycles and aircraft.
Saturday's Concours d'Elegance will feature pre-WWII and post-WWII domestic cars. Sunday's Concours Europa will be devoted solely to pre-WWII and post-WWII European sports, touring, and competition cars. Many of the cars to be shown each day are rare, limited-production, or one-off vehicles. In addition, each day there are galleries of automotive art and memorabilia, a book alley, workshops and demonstrations, and fascinating exhibits by Audi of America, Bentley Motors, Mercedes-Benz USA, Lincoln Division of Ford Motor Company, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars NA, General Motors, Saab Cars USA, Daimler Chrysler Corp., Volvo Cars of North America, Jaguar Cars North America, Land Rover North America, Ferrari Maserati North America, and Mini USA.
Dates: Saturday June 4 and Sunday June 5, 2005
Show Time: 10:00am to 5:00pm each day.
Admission: $20 per day or $30 for both days; children 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult.
