I drove up from school (UF) in '98 to watch.. had a seat watching the entrance to the infield, great stuff. And felt prefectly safe parking my Miata between an NSX and an F355 Spyder.. Shame I wont be able to get home this year for it. Oh well, I may just have to go to LeMans.

You live in San Fran and went to UF? I grew up right next door in Napa! I plan on moving back to the area after school. We should meet up sometime on one of my trips back home. I take some pics of the race for ya and post them later.
Everyone-
Come on people, don't you want to see 911s, Ferraris, and vipers chase each other for a full day? This is the greatest race in the area and compared to Nascar tickets, very cheap! I know the super-allweekend-pass is only about $70. That even includes parking in the infield! Don't let me be the only S2K there! E-mail me if your interested and we can set up a time/place to meet. I know there's a lot of you not to far away. Again, hope to see everyone who can make it to Daytona!

 

I am going to be at the race on Saturday and maybe Sunday. I should be at the track before 2PM if flights are on time. Where and when are you wanting to meet? Do you have a Talk About? The weather sounds like it will be warmer than last year.

 

BlsS2000- yep.. went to uf from Aug95 - Dec98.. moved out here Jan99. been back to Gainesville once since I graduated. Im from tallahassee so went down to visit a couple of friends on one of my trips home. Had to get a blackened Mahi-Mahi sandwich at the Gainesville Ale House. Anyway, sure, lemme know when you come out this way, we'll get together.

I won't be there, but I'll be watching some of it.. My Replay at work is recording 11-some hours of it from Speedvision for me to watch during work monday..

I'm not sure where I'll be parked, but I usually try to get a spot where there's a lot of good action, like the hairpin. Last year's trick was to park the car there so I can watch from inside the car (bloody cold last year wasn't it?). I'm going to try that again. So, I guess just look for the black/black. Should be the only one there, but if not, I'm the owner that's 5'9", short brown hair, and mid 20's. Just come up and ask "are you Mike?" Oh, just remembered something that will help. The stook has a white S2KI sticker on the rear exhaust valence (plastic piece). That should make me stick out. I'll be there early in the morning for the start. The weather is going to be the big factor in how long I stay. See you there.

 

Hope we get a chance to connect. I am 50, 5'11", and if the weather is warm enough, I will be wearing a shirt with Honda Racing or a red S2000 on the back.

 

I live in Jacksonville and am planning on being there at least Saturday since one of the guys at work gave me a ticket. I am a little worried, however, that if we meet up and have two black on black S2000's there, it might cause some sort of riot and we could get thrown out of the track. You know how everybody loves the black.
