I have recently bought an 02 that may or may not have 4.77s installed, how do I know?

 

What's your ~70mph cruising rpm in 6th gear? If you don't know that, what speed does 2nd gear top out at?

 

Not sure on limit of 2nd gear, will find out on my way home tonight, but rpm at 70mph in 6th gear is about 4300-4400.

Also, if I have 4.77s and assuming my speedo is correct, I should see a yellow box under my dash right? A quick glance and I didnt see that.

 

You should not use the speedo for this test but use gps or mile markers and a stop watch.

 

have another AP1 drive along side of you for rpm match.

 

according to my calculations, you have 4.77 gears if you are doing 70mph at 4400rpm in 6th. normal is around 3700
