Default 06+ AEM CAI MOD

looking to replace my F5 Fujita CAI

i noticed the 06+ AEM CAI is a three piece design and locates the filter near the center of the bumper in clear view. anyone install one of these?

is it possible to not install the last section and mount the filter to the mid pipe - similar to all other two piece designs? like my F5 Fujita?

What is your reason for making the switch?? I doubt it's worth the money seeing that you already have a cold air intake..

and to answer your question I doubt it would hurt.. but you have to know where and if the filter will fit where the pipe ends..

i agree it's not... my F5 was rubbing the hood and i f'ed it up trying to fix it

so i'm just getting around to cleaning the engine bay up. i don't see the F5 for sell anymore... so i'm looking at the AEM V3 ('06) because it's 3.25 O.D. piping... i'm not sure about it sticking out near center of bumper but the more i look at it i dont think i t's as visible as i originally thought - especially the coated version (21-690c).
