Default 06+ Seat Solutions

With 06' becoming older and older now, I'd expect more cars out there with a solution.

Through search I've found someone that actually salvaged all the sensors off of the OEM seat and just mounted them onto the new seat. Spiffy, but seems far too complicated for my solution.

So what i'm looking for is a simple circuit solution that will trick the airbags into just working. There were some ppl that have mentioned a 1.9, ~2 ohm resistor, and a diode but I haven't seen a fully documented solution.

Am I correct to believe that no one has solved this problem besides a full harvest of the OEM seats?

Really, no one solved this? Is everyone just running single seats or no airbags?

I saw the method you mentioned above. Yeah I have two seats but only running one just because I don't want to butcher my stock passenger seat.

Has anyone at least started some research?

Circuit diagrams?

Signals?

Anything would help =(.

i installed aftermarket seats into a 06.

Drivers side, used wedge engineering 00+ brackets. no prob. Then i fabbed a piece to hold the airbag sensor just like stock.

Passenger side, used a wedge engineering 00+ brackets and cut and chopped them up to fit the 06 floor. Then made brackets to hold the stock airbag sensors and seatbelts.

all works like it should and no hacking to TRICK the airbags, that is just unsafe!

Thanks Mike, I still might end up just picking up ur seats =\.

really no one even tried to bypass and leave the airbag on?

Even stories of failed attempts would help, that why i don't have to go thru the same time wasting path.

I won't have kids in the car, so the weight sensor is just overkill.

The weight sensor isn't just for kids. There are lots of things that I put in my passenger seat that I don't want triggering the air bag (groceries, laptop, etc).

Well if i could fashion an on off switch that would be the best. I know ea airbag deployed will prolly cost you like 5k, so its nice to not unnecessarily fire them, but the 00-05 seem to function just fine without 'em.

Yea, what i was saying is that the 00-05 have lived quite nicely without seat sensors so i'm pretty sure its not that imprt (unless u have kids).

Mike, ur seats are ready to snap right in right, sensors and computers work right away?
