What exactly do you guys mean by 'gears' ?. We will be getting the car lifted shortly hence will then be able to see exactly what kind of exhaust system is present in the car and also post a few pics as a treat lol

By gears, they mean a new final drive to increase the gear ratios (and therefore increase acceleration, at the expense of top speed).

Thanks guys, i looked up the "gear" post here and it was very informative. Though it might not add power, but since it obviously increase the acceleration of the car, it will definitely come in handy during a drag.

Secondly can you guys please recommend what brand of headers/intake are best for this car? Thanks

Heard great things about both the comptech items (header and CAI), might save you delivery to get them from the same place. Sets you up nicely for a comptech SC kit down the line.

header: hytech or j's

intake: humm, depends:
cai, i would guess aem v2,

short ram: k&n, but it tends to soak up heat, although it is not b/c of heat soak it sucks heat form the engine bay b/c it is an open filter. i had this on my s2k for awhile and off the line on a hot day was not so fun. it really worked on rolls goin about 50+ mph.

snorkel: i hear j's is good. i have the spoon style now, although it does not really add power. the snorkel actually improves running conditions by guiding air in front of the radiator and into the air box. and it adds a little bling, carbon fiber bling.

weight reduction = free speed and id say get rear gears and try to find a tuner!

My car in the UK has mugen exhaust, mugen manifold, mugen intake, berk decat, mugen cooling mods and mugen N1 ECU. My advice would be to buy the Mugen N1 ecu with changes the fueling and ignition maps, should be close to US$1000 then get an intake!

Save yourself $900 and get a vafc. Gains will be close to the same and tons of savings.
