I'm sure this has been covered before but I been searching and reading around... hope to get a definite answer before investing into it.

I found the exact spec and top I want from an ebay seller however it says clearly it will only fit 2002-2007 vehicles. I've asked them the reason behind it and as expected their answer was:

"The 2002-07 top w/ glass window will not work with
the 2000-01 as the bows interfere with the glass
window when folding
down. Some sort of conversion
or strap kit is needed and we do not have
that."

Has anyone tried doing it? I'm guessing the only part I need is the 2 nylon straps that divides the second and third bow?
are there any other parts I need to make the sweet conversion work?

I wish I was more knowledgable on this subject. I bought my 2000 s2k a year ago with a glass rear window soft top alrdy installed on it. I havent had any issues with it since I've owned it, so I hope that helps somewhat.

 

I believe a company called Robinsons makes a soft top that will fit early AP1 and has a glass rear window.

$500 for a proven softie is cheap. And it has a warranty. They ship internationally as well since it says you are from HK. Most ebay products for the S are horrid. With the exception of the hood struts but they havn't been around to stand the test of time. But hey its your vehicle and the only thing protecting you from the elements.
