Default 3 inch custom exhaust help

well yesterday i had my 3 inch header back built with an apexi n1 muffler and i love the way it turned out and the sound of it, but its just too loud. i was wondering if someone has a similar setup but with a resonator and what kind you used and how you like it.

3 inch and an N1 is going to be very hard to quiet down.

my ebay exhaust felt great, good power, no bogging, butt-dyno felt like a +10whp gain, but it was too damn loud, had to put in the silencers. you could add in glasspack's or something to tone it down a little and any exhaust shop can whip up a silencer for your muffler too.

I think you should just add a big resonator in there somewhere, then add some silencer inserts if they would be comaptible with your mufflers.

Ya I'm in the market for a resonator I'm just wondering what everyone else is using. I'm sure its a shot in the dark with everyone buying all the jdm exhausts.

If I go custom, I prob add maganflow or borla reasonator. Go search down FI section or here. I do remember seeing one guy added muffler instead of reasonator on his mid section. If I recall he had dual N1.

so its a 3" straight pipe? I bet your ears bleed from a 5 minute drive haha! You could always get a nice 3" in/out magnaflow (or similar) muffler and have it welded in the exhaust somewhere... that would quiet it down...

My 3" megan sounds freaking amazing, but without the silencer in it drones so much I literally cant talk on my cell phone in the car. Throw a silencer in that biatch and rip it out for meets and track days. Other than that you'll spend tons of money on resonators that just wont help that much. Remember, you went 3"... only other option would be put a quieter muffler on it.

That's the thing, I love the sound just not the volume. I was thinking of throwing a dynomax bullet in, but I don't know if it would help that much. I have no drone what so ever. I guess ill just go with the trial and error method.

Throw a big resonator in there and call it a day.
