So maybe this is a stupid question, but from a stop (assuming drivers are equal) would a s2000 with 4.77s beat a stock 350z? And how much top speed would this sacrifice?

 

which year 350z which model.older 350z does anywhere from 13.7-14.4 new ones do 13.3-13.6 from what ive seen.

 

top speed i believe is 143 with 4.77s stock gearing its about 165.im sure someone will be nice enough to post the gear calculator

From a stop my AP1 beat the last generation 350Z with my 4.77s by about 1 car to about 100. The only mods I had at the time was an intake and the 4.77s.

I have yet to run a new 370Z.

The beauty of 4.77s is how hard it pulls from 1st thru the end of 3rd. Freeway passing is effortless also.

And the 4.77s top out at 143 in a AP1.

 

I would think you would pull more than one car on a Z, this is assuming you are talking about your bumper being at his hood..? I have never had an issue rolling a Z with stock gears. You should be able to kill a newer model GT (300hp/320tq) with 4.77s, so yes you will have no problems with Zs.

I can't tell how much of a difference my gears make or not. Feels quicker but never ran against anyone with them really.
