Is 85K too many miles to start a project?
Ok so I am thinking about starting a build over the next year or so and was about to pull the trigger, but I am kind of wondering if my car has gotten past the point where it makes any sense to put a lot of money into doing anything. I was thinking about doing the following phases:
I. Wheels/tires and coilovers
II. Brakes
III. Exterior
IV. Drivetrain
V. Engine
VI. Interior

85k isn't to much. As long as you take care of the car it will last for years and years to come. Mine has right at 92k (but I do have a new shortblock with 61k on it) I don't regret doing the mods I have done at all. I say go for it!
You will be fine. I just put my first mod on at 89k. To be honest, the car does not feel any different than it did 2 years ago when it had 63k on it. In fact, in runs better, and its cleaner since some maint.
Thanks guys for the comments. Well, I figure even if I do the wheels/tires, coilovers, and brakes minimum that will still be worthwhile no matter what and will only enhance the performance and safety. I am not planning to cheap out much on anything (expect maybe exterior
) so I think the mods will just improve on my tired stock car.
Is there anything I should look at replacing/refreshing before I do anything though? Under the engine or underbody?

I bought my AP1 with 94k on it. Put my intake on shortly after, then the HKS 75mm at 98k. Just bone stock the motor felt very health but noticeably liven'd up with just those 2 bolt on's.
